As a newly minted CEO, you may think you finally have the power to set strategy, the authority to make things happen, and full access to the finer points of your business. But if you expect the job to be as simple as that, you're in for an awakening.
The New CEO Workshop at Harvard Business School brings together a small group of newly appointed chief executive officers and CEO designates of major corporations to focus on strategy, setting an agenda, and facing the challenges of leadership. The sessions are extremely interactive, tailored for each new group of participants, and designed to invite in-depth sharing of personal experiences and active participation by faculty.
The sessions are led by Harvard Business School Professors Michael Porter, Nitin Nohria, and other distinguished faculty with deep experience working with CEOs and Boards.
The Workshop is open by personal invitation only and designed for newly appointed CEOs of public parent companies with annual revenues of $2 billion or more.
We introduced this workshop in the 1990s to address the distinctive challenges facing first-time chief executives in large, complex enterprises.
