Influence Beyond the Classroom
The MOC Affiliate Network has evolved beyond just a platform for teaching and research to become a tool to influence and support economic development around the world. The network’s influence beyond the classroom includes:
- In 2021, over 20% of the MOC courses implemented by affiliate institutions were executive level courses targeted at leaders in the public and the private sectors.
- Currently there are 137 competitiveness institutes created with an active MOC affiliate institution. Each institute has a distinct geographic or content focus, and 60% of the institutes were developed as a direct result of the associated institution's participation in the MOC Affiliate Network.
- A growing number of MOC faculty are active in local and regional competitiveness efforts that engage government and private sector leaders. By 2021, the total number of such projects and initiatives with MOC affiliate involvement has grown to 819 cluster related initiatives and 925initiatives on national and regional competitiveness.
