established with the goal of leading research on competitiveness
issues throughout Asia. Headed by
Professor Neo Boon Siong, the Institute aims to become a thought leader on
competitiveness in Asia and in doing so influence regional policy-making in this
area with the ultimate objective of raising living standards through
productivity-driven economic growth.

The mission of the International Center for
Competitiveness is to provide research and teaching in the following fields:
• The role of the European Union
within the scope of a global economy
• Competitiveness of nations and regions within the European Union under the
framework created by Prof. Porter in his book “The Competitive Advantage of
Nations” and subsequent publications in this field.
• The role of “clusters” in the process of achieving the goals of what is
known as “Lisbon 2010”
• Relocation of activities
by large European firms
• Globalization and the

not-for-profit organization that deepens public understanding of macro and
microeconomic factors behind Ontario’s economic progress.
It is funded by the Government of Ontario and mandated
to share research findings directly with the public.
Center for
Strategy and Competitiveness
Stockholm School of Economics
The Center for Strategy and Competitiveness focuses on four research tracks:
Strategy and International Business, Creation and Diffusion of Knowledge in
Networks, Clusters and Competitiveness, and Micro Policy. The Center applies and
develops theoretical models to investigate the determinants of competitiveness
and economic development from a bottom up, microeconomic perspective. CSC
coordinates the
Europe INNOVA Cluster Mapping project and the
European Cluster Observatory.
