The Cluster Meta-Study

The Cluster Meta-Study was a multiyear project to aggregate data from existing cluster publications to learn more about the locational, economic, and competitive characteristics of clusters, the reasons behind their competitiveness or uncompetitiveness, and their patterns of evolution over time as well as the reasons behind these patterns.  Consistent information for numerous studies was extracted using a template, which allowed cross cluster tabulation and the analysis of relationships among variables.

Initial findings from the analysis are presented in the article, "The Demography of Clusters - Findings from the Cluster Meta-Study" (pdf), and slides from a related presentation, The Demography of Clusters (pdf).  For more information, please contact Claas van der Linde.
